Joomla - Content Menu

In this chapter, we will study the menus provided in the Joomla content . The drop-down menu is displayed when you click on the content menu .

Article Manager

In the Article Manager, you can create standard pages that consist of images, text, and hyperlinks. Click on menu Content → Article Manager in Joomla admin panel, you will see the following screen −

Here we have mentioned the details about the column heading on the article manager page.

  • Checkbox − Used to select one or more items.

  • Status − Indicates the status of the page or article i.e. Publish/Unpublish/Archive/Delete.

  • Title − Specifies the title title to be displayed in the menu.

  • Access − Indicates the level of access, i.e. public or private.

  • Author is the name of the author who created this particular element.

  • Language - Specifies the element's language to use.

  • Date - Specifies the date the article was created.

  • Hits - Specifies the number of times an element has been viewed.

  • ID is a unique identification number automatically assigned to items.

Checkbox − Used to select one or more items.

Status − Indicates the status of the page or article i.e. Publish/Unpublish/Archive/Delete.

Title − Specifies the title title to be displayed in the menu.

Access − Indicates the level of access, i.e. public or private.

Author is the name of the author who created this particular element.

Language - Specifies the element's language to use.

Date - Specifies the date the article was created.

Hits - Specifies the number of times an element has been viewed.

ID is a unique identification number automatically assigned to items.

Let's learn about the search field on the article manager page, which is used to search for items very simply.

Here you can search for an item on the article manager page by selecting any of them - Select State, Select Category, Select Maximum Level, Select Access, Select Author, Select Language, or Select Tag » .

We will cover the Article Manager Dashboard in detail in the Joomla Dashboard chapter .

Add new article

Click Content → Article Manager → Add New Article in Joomla admin panel, then you will see the following screen. The same page can be viewed by clicking Category Manager → Add New Category.

Here you can create your article or web page by putting a title in the title bar and we can add or write content in the content tab . We'll talk more about this in the Joomla Adding Content chapter .

Category manager

The category manager is used to create categories of articles, allowing you to better group your content. Click on Content → Menu Manager menu in Joomla admin panel, then you will get the following screen image −

Featured Article

Click on Content → Featured Manager menu in Joomla admin panel, then you will get the following screen −

Here, a yellow asterisk indicates that the article has been published. An asterisk is present next to each article for featured articles.

media manager

You can manage your media files by uploading a new file or deleting existing ones using the media manager. Click on Content → Media Manager menu in Joomla admin panel, then you will get the following screen −

View thumbnails

The thumbnail contains a preview of the images and icons of the subfolder. When we click on the thumbnail view, the media manager will look like below.

detailed view

The detail view contains the details of the file. The detail view shows information about the file, such as the size and size of the file. When we click on detail view, the media manager will look like below.
