Joomla - Control Panel

The control panel provides standard Joomla features and functions to access through interactive icons, menu bar, etc. When you log into the Joomla admin panel, you will get a screen as shown below. Important Control Panel icons and their functions are marked in the following screen −

The content of the article

There are four icons in the CONTENTS section as shown below −

  • Add New Article - Creates a new article page.

  • Article Manager - Manages all of your current articles.

  • Category Manager - Creates new categories and assists in publishing/unpublishing categories.

  • Media Manager - manages files by uploading various new files or deleting existing ones on your web server.

Structure Format

There are two groups of icons in the STRUCTURE section −

  • Menu Manager - The Menu Manager allows you to create custom menus for your site and your site navigation.

  • Module Manager - manages modules such as the location and functions of the modules installed in the field.

User information

In the USERS section there is one icon -

  • User Manager - It manages user information, allowing you to create or delete a user, change passwords, times, and languages. You can also assign a user to user groups .

Install configuration

Three icons are located under the CONFIGURATION section as shown below −

  • The global configuration is an important part in Joomla. Any changes made to this configuration will affect the entire site.

  • Template Manager - Manages the templates used on the site.

  • Language Manager - manages the installed language by setting the default language for your site.

Install extension

There are many extensions available in Joomla. You can install various types of extensions to enhance the functionality of the site.

Maintenance

There are two icons in the MAINTENANCE section:

  • Joomla is up to date − It looks at the current update state of the Joomla installation.

  • All extensions are up to date - it looks at the current update status of the Joomla extension.

Registered user

It shows the name of the administrator who is logged into the Joomla site.

Published Articles

It shows published articles and also shows the real article you have published.

Website Information

It displays site details like OS name, PHP and MySQL version, etc. and also shows the number of users who are using that site.
