Joomla - Dashboard

In this chapter, we will explore the different options for the toolbar in Joomla. Following is the list of toolbars −

• Article Manager Dashboard
• Category manager toolbar
• Media Manager toolbar
• Menu Manager toolbar
• Module Manager Toolbar
• User Manager toolbar
• Global Configuration Toolbar
• Template manager toolbar

Article Manager Dashboard

Click Content → Article Manager in the Joomla Admin Dashboard. In the Article Manager, you can create standard pages that consist of images, text, and hyperlinks. The following figure shows the Article Manager toolbar.

• New - Create a new article.

• Edit − Edit any specific article.

• Publish — publish an article for the user on the site.

• Unpublish - Unpublish the article for the user on the website.

• Featured - Featured Article Several articles can also be shown.

• Archive − It can change the status of articles to published or unpublished by selecting archived in the status selection filter.

• Check In - registration of the selected product. Several articles can be checked.

• Cart - Delete the selected product permanently.

• Batch Processing - Selected items are processed in batches.

• Help - The Help button is used to open the help screen.

• Option - opens the settings window where you can change the article settings.

New - Create a new article.

Edit − Edit any specific article.

Unpublish - Unpublish the article for the user on the website.

Featured - Featured Article Several articles can also be shown.

Category manager toolbar

Click Content → Category Manager in the Joomla Admin Dashboard. It manages to create a classification of articles, which allows you to better group your content. The following figure shows the category manager toolbar.

• New - Add a new category.

• Edit - Edits an existing category.

• Publish - Publish the categories to the user on the website.

• Unpublish - unpublish categories for the user on the website.

• Archive - You can change the status of categories to published or unpublished by selecting archived in the status selection filter.

Media Manager toolbar

Click Content → Media Manager in the Joomla Admin Dashboard. It manages files by uploading a new file or deleting existing ones on your web server. Below is a screenshot of the Media Manager panel.

• Upload - Upload images from your system.

• Create New Folder - Create a new folder on the Joomla server.

• Delete - permanently deletes the selected item/images.

• Help - opens the help window.

• Option & minus Opens the settings window where you can change the settings for the articles.

Menu Manager toolbar

Click Menu → Menu Manager in the Joomla Admin Dashboard. Manages menu items. This is where new menus are created, deleted or managed afterwards. Below is a screenshot of the menu manager toolbar.

• New − Creates a new menu item.

• Edit - edits the selected menu item.

• Delete - permanently deletes the selected menu item.

• Rebuild - Rebuilds or updates the corresponding menu items.

• Help - The Help button is used to open the help screen.

• Option - opens the settings window where you can change the article settings.

Module Manager Toolbar

Click Extension → Module Manager in the Joomla Admin Control Panel. It manages the location of the modules and the features that are installed. The following figure shows the module manager toolbar.

• New - creates new modules.

• Edit - edits the selected modules.

• Duplicate - With this button you can create a copy of the selected module.

• Publish - Publish the selected modules to the user on the website.

• Unpublish - unpublish the selected modules for the user on the website.

• Check In - registration of certain selected modules. Several modules can be tested.

• Trash - Delete selected modules permanently.

• Batch - Selected modules are processed in batches.

• Help - The Help button is used to open the help screen.

• Option - opens the settings window where you can change the article settings.

Duplicate - With this button you can create a copy of the selected module.

Publish - Publish the selected modules to the user on the website.

Unpublish - unpublish the selected modules for the user on the website.

User Manager toolbar

Click Users → User Manager in the Joomla admin control panel. It manages all user information such as username, email address, date of last visit and date of registration. Below is a screenshot of the user manager toolbar.

• New - Creates a new user.

• Edit - edits the selected user.

• Activate - Activates multiple users.

• Block - blocks the selected user.

• Unblock - Unblocks the selected users.

• Delete - Deletes specific users.

• Batch - The selected users are treated as a batch.

• Help - The Help button is used to open the help screen.

• Option - opens the settings window where you can change the article settings.

New - Creates a new user.

Edit - edits the selected user.

Activate - Activates multiple users.

Unblock - Unblocks the selected users.

Global Configuration Toolbar

Click System → Global Configuration in the Joomla Admin Dashboard. It manages the global Joomla site settings. Below is a snapshot of the global configuration toolbar.

• Save - Saves the configuration and stays on the same screen.

• Save and Close - saves the configuration and closes the screen.

• Cancel - Cancel configuration changes and return to the previous screen without saving.

• Help - The Help button is used to open the help screen.

Template manager toolbar

Click Extension → Template Manager in the Joomla Admin Control Panel. It manages the templates you use on the site. The following figure shows the Template Manager toolbar −

• Default - Sets the specific selected default style.

• Edit - edits template pages.

• Duplicate - Creates a duplicate of the template.

• Delete - deletes the template.

• Help - The Help button is used to open the help screen.

• Option - opens the settings window where you can change the article settings.

Language Manager toolbar

Click Extension → Language Manager in the Joomla Admin Control Panel. It controls the languages ​​you use on the site. The following figure shows the Language Manager toolbar −

Default - Sets the selected language as the default.

Set language - set the desired language.

Help - The Help button is used to open the help screen.

Option - opens the settings window where you can change the article settings.
