Joomla - Menu

The menu manager allows you to create custom menus for your site and allows you to navigate your site.
Step 1 − Click Menu → Menu Manager in Joomla Admin, you will see the following screen −
You can see menus and menu items pointing to a logical page on the site.
Step 2 − To add a new menu to your website, go to Menu → Menu Manager → Add New Menu as shown in the following screen −
After clicking on Add New Menu, you will get a screen as shown below. Here you can create a new menu.

Title - The name of the menu.

Menu type - Menu type.

Description - a brief description of the menu.

Step 3 − To create a new menu item, go to Menu → Menu Name → Add New Menu Item as shown in the following screen −
You can also add a new menu item via the user menu . All of the steps below refer to creating a menu item using this method.
When you open the new menu item page, you will get the following screen −
There are two main sections under the new menu item −

Menu Title - Displays the title of the menu item in the menu.

Alias ​​- Used as the SEF URL. Joomla will automatically fill in the header value. It will produce UTF-8 aliases; it does not allow spaces and underscores.

While creating menu items, some tabs are present as shown in the following screen −

The Details tab in the Add New Item menu is shown below.
It contains the following options −

Menu Item Type − It defines the type of menu item like articles, tags, web links, system links, contacts, etc.

Link − Defines a link in the menu.

target window. There are three options: Parent , New Window with Navigation, and New Without Navigation, which targets the browser window when the menu item is clicked.

Template style. You can select a template style for your website by clicking the dropdown menu that displays Beez3 - Default and protostar - Default styles or default templates for your website.

Menu Location - Indicates which menu link will appear; either the main menu or the user menu .

Parent Element − This will help you to select the parent element by selecting Menu Item Root or Home .

Status - Displays the status of the article. Status such as Published , Unpublished and Destroyed .

Default Page − Provides Yes or No options to set the menu item as the default page or home page of the site.

Access - Only the selected option from this drop down list such as Guest , Public , Super Users , Registered and Special can view the site.

Language - defines the language of the site. It provides either ALL or English (UK) options.

Link Title Attribute - Specifies the description of the title attribute of this hyperlink.

Link CSS Style − It applies a custom CSS style to the hyperlink.

Link Image - Uses the image to be used with the hyperlink.

Add Menu Title - Provides Yes or No options and adds a menu title next to the image. Yes by default .
Link Title Attribute - Specifies the description of the title attribute of this hyperlink.

Browser page title. Specifies the description of the browser page title.

Show Page Title - Provides a Yes or No option that hides or shows the page title in the page title.

Page Class - defines an optional CSS class for styling elements on the page.

It contains the following options as described below −
Meta Description - Used as an optional paragraph that includes a description of the page and is displayed in search engine results.
Meta keywords are additional keywords that will be used in the HTML page.
Robots − It specifies robot instructions such as Global , Index , Follow , No Index , No Index , No Subscription
Secure - Specifies whether the link should use SSL or a secure site URL. It provides three options such as " Off" , " On" And " Pass"
