Magento - Client Setup

Need to record customer accounts and customer registration process in Magento. This chapter describes the client settings as shown in the following steps.

Step 1 - Login to your Magento admin panel.

Step 2 − Go to the system menu and click on the configuration option .

Step 3 − Select the Client Configuration option from the CLIENTS section on the left side navigation bar.

Step 4 − Expand the Account Sharing Options panel , which has a Share Customer Accounts field that is set to Per Website . This specifies that customers can only use this account to sign in to a specific website. Then, expand the Online Clients Options panel and set the time interval for the Online Minutes Interval option . By default it is empty and the value is set to 15 minutes.

Step 5 − The Create New Account panel contains the following fields. Fill in all the fields as instructed on the screen and click the Save Configuration button to save your changes.

Step 6 − The Password Options Panel has some settings −

  • Forgotten Email Template - Helps you reset the customer's password if the customer has forgotten their password.

  • Remind Email Template - Changes the template for a specific email transaction.

  • Reminder and Reminder Email Sender - Selects the email address that sends the password message to the customer, displayed in the Forgotten and Reminder Template fields .

  • Recovery Link Expiration - Specifies how many days the password reset recovery link will be active.

Step 7 − In the Login Options panel, there is an option to Redirect the client to the account panel after login which is set to Yes by default. If you set it to No, the clients will stay on the current page. Once you've made your settings, click the Save Config button to save your changes.
