Magento - Email Order Setup

This chapter describes how Magento manages email, how you can edit email content, customize email from options and in etc. Magento has built-in functionality called sales email which manages email sent to customers when order processed.

The following steps describe how to set up an email order in Magento −

Step 1 - Login to your Magento admin panel.

Step 2 − Go to System menu and click on Configuration .

Step 3 − From the left side of the navigation bar, go to the Sales section and click on Sales .

Step 4 − Select the area in the Current Configuration area where you want to apply this configuration.

Step 5 − On the Sales page, expand the Order panel which contains the following settings.

  • Enabled - Set this option to Yes to allow new order confirmation emails to be sent.

  • Order confirmation email sender - In this field, select the email address that will be used to send the new order confirmation.

  • New Order Confirmation Template - Selects the template to be used for order confirmation emails sent to registered customers.

  • New Guest Order Confirmation Template - Selects the template to be used for order confirmation emails sent to guest customers.

  • Send order via email Copy to - Specifies the email address to which a copy of the order confirmation email is sent.

  • Send Order via Email Copy Method - You can send a copy of the new order confirmation email to an additional email address using BCC or a separate email address.

Enabled - Set this option to Yes to allow new order confirmation emails to be sent.

Order confirmation email sender - In this field, select the email address that will be used to send the new order confirmation.

New Order Confirmation Template - Selects the template to be used for order confirmation emails sent to registered customers.

New Guest Order Confirmation Template - Selects the template to be used for order confirmation emails sent to guest customers.

Send order via email Copy to - Specifies the email address to which a copy of the order confirmation email is sent.

Send Order via Email Copy Method - You can send a copy of the new order confirmation email to an additional email address using BCC or a separate email address.

Step 6 − After finishing the settings, click the Save Configuration button to save the changes.
